
Utah County Fire is primarily a wild land fire department. We operate under the authority of the Utah County Emergency Services Division. The Fire Program provides support to all operations within the Sheriff's Office.
The program provides for two operations. First is the responsibility to suppress all wild land fires within the limits of unincorporated Utah County. Second, we provide two, twenty person hand crews and one engine to out-of-area responses. The funds received by going out-of-area help to make this program self sustaining.
Our fire season locally runs from June 1st to October 1st. We will run, on average, 150 to 200 fire calls a year. During the height of the fire season and between both programs, we employ up to 80 people. Our staff is diversified in that we hire from local fire departments, colleges and area residents.
