A Utah County Sheriff's Office Deputy assisting American Fork Police in a search for an armed robbery suspect had his patrol car struck by that suspect. There were no inujuries.

On January 18, 2017, shortly after noon, Deputies and Officers from several different agencies were assisting American Fork Police in the search for a suspect in an armed robbery and stolen car from their city. A Deputy with the Utah County Sheriff's Office spotted the suspect in Orem, near 1100 North a couple of blocks east of State Street. The Deputy tried to stop the suspect but he fled and refused to stop. As the pursuit continued a short distance the suspect approached another Deputy involved in the search and struck his patrol car, a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. Both cars were disabled as a result of the collision. After a short foot pursuit the suspect was taken into custody by American Fork Police. There were no injuries as a result of the crash.
