Family members of a missing Millard County woman called dispatch after they reported finding a Millard County woman missing since Sunday, 5/15/16. The investigation remains active.

Shortly before 3:00 PM on 5/20/16 Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report that family members of a missing Millard County woman found her deceased in an area between SR-6, mile 144, and Dividend Road, a few miles east of Eureka in Utah County. Deputies responded and were directed to the area by the missing woman's family. The woman, Stacy Jo Morrill, age 52, of Oasis in Millard County, was reportedly last seen leaving her home near Delta Saturday afternoon or evening. Her abandoned Jeep Cherokee was found along Dividend Road near SR-6 in southwest Utah County Saturday evening. It was reported to law enforcement Sunday evening.

Detectives with the Utah County Sheriff's Office and investigators with the Millard County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and their investigation remains active. While there was no immediate indication that Morrill was a victim of violent assault, there was no other information or evidence that indicated how she might have died. Her body was found in area of rugged terrain covered with ravines, Juniper trees, and Sage Brush. Morrill's body will be taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Salt Lake.

Utah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue (SAR) assisted today in removing her body. Since Sunday SAR has also spent numerous hours searching the area by ground. Also involved were a UCSO airplane, a DPS helicopter, and a SAR helicopter. On Wednesday, 5/18/16, 9 K9's from Great Basin K9 SAR and Texas Game Wardens spent the day searching the area. Volunteers also descended over 200 feet into abandoned mine shafts, all without results.
