** Update ** Utah County Detectives have confirmed that the weapon used was a revolver, and that 2 shots were fired. Both rounds struck the deceased. The official autopsy report is pending and could take several weeks to complete. Investigators will be working closely with the Utah County Attorney's office to determine the outcome of the case.
On 02/27/2015, At approximately 9:50 pm, Utah Valley Dispatch received a 911 call from a female in Eagle Mountain City stating she had just shot her husband. Deputies responded to the scene and found a 33 year old male inside the residence that had been shot and killed. A 31 year old female, the deceased’s wife, has been taken the Utah County Sheriff’s office for questioning. 4 children, ages one to nine, were in the house at the time the shooting occurred, however, it’s unknown if they witnessed anything. The children are staying with family members. Crime scene technicians are currently processing the scene. *** Update *** Crime scene technicians have completed processing the scene. The female who called 911 is Tiana Hitesman, 31 years old. The deceased's name is Elwin Hitesman, 33 years old. Tiana Hitesman was released after being questioned by Detectives.
