In an incident early Sunday morning, September 14, an adult male was assaulted and treated at an area hospital. The investigation continues.
A little before 7:00 AM on September 14, 2014, Provo Police were dispatched to investigate a report of a kidnapping. Later Orem Police and Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to assist with the investigation. The kidnapping was reported to have happened in Orem, but investigators have not been able to verify that a kidnapping actually occurred. They have identified the person involved but have not been able to locate her. They have reason to believe she is not in danger however.
Deputies with Utah County Sheriff's Office and officers with Orem and Provo Police continue to investigate in an effort to determine if there was a kidnapping and, if so, who is responsible. They are also attempting to identify a suspect in the assault.
During the course of the investigation a call came in reporting a man who had been assaulted in unincorporated Utah County, near Orem. Investigators learned that this man may be connected to the initial report but there is no suspect in custody. The man was treated at an area hospital and is expected to recover.
