School starts in Utah County in three weeks -- don't wait on back-to-school immunizations

It's once again time to start planning for back-to-school, and that includes school immunizations. New kindergartners are required to have be up-to-date on vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP, DTAaP, or Tdap vaccine), polio, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), hepatitis A and B, and varicella (chicken pox). Seventh graders are required to have a Tdap booster, and it is highly recommended they also receive a booster for varicella, meningitis, and HPV. Health professionals also encourage these same boosters for college students if they haven't had them. You can find the complete schedule of immunizations at www.UtahCountyHealth.org/immunizations.

The Utah County Health Department (UCHD) offers all these immunizations at our Provo Clinic (151 S. University Ave), in UCHD American Fork Office (599 S 500 E), and Payson Satellite Clinic (439 West Utah Ave). For details, please see www.UtahCountyHealth.org/immunizations, call 801-851-7025, or follow #UtahCountyShots at www.twitter.com/uchd.

The UCHD will also be holding community clinics throughout Utah County. For a complete list, see www.UtahCountyHealth.org/Immunizations, but these are upcoming:
