Utah County Sheriff's Office deputies apprehended a suspect who shot at Police Officers in Buhl Idaho early this morning.

On July 22, 2014 at 0240 hours, Police in Buhl, Idaho, were dispatched to a domestic violence call. An Officer from Buhl Police Department, as well as a Twin Falls County Deputy responded to the scene. As Police arrived, shots were fired at them from within the residence. Officers took cover, but did not return fire. One officer from Buhl PD, Benny Torres, received a piercing injury to his buttocks. He was later treated and released from a local Idaho hospital. The suspect, 40 year old Victor Soria, subsequently fled the area in a newer model Black Chevrolet Camaro, bearing Idaho plates. An attempt to locate was broadcast for that vehicle. At 1245 this afternoon, an alert Utah County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the vehicle. He verified that it was the suspect vehicle from the Idaho shooting. The driver of the car observed the deputy and began to take some evasive measures. The Deputy called for back-up and other deputies quickly responded. The vehicle was located on West Center Street in Provo, Utah, and deputies made contact with the driver, who had exited the car and was hastily walking away. Deputies effected a felony stop on the suspect, and successfully took him into custody without further incident. It was verified by photo and identification that this was indeed the suspect, Mr. Soria. No weapon was located in the car, or on his person. The vehicle was subsequently impounded and Buhl Police department was notified. The Utah County Sheriff's Office will be working with Buhl PD in regards to this event.
