An 11 year old Eagle Mountain boy died this morning after being found hanging at home. This appears to be an accident.
On September 29, 2013, just after 11:30 AM, Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office and Unified Fire Authority EMS personnel responded to a report of an accidental hanging in Eagle Mountain. An 11 year old boy had been playing on an indoor swing in the basement of the home when he became entangled and could not free himself. A younger brother told their father something wasn't right with his older brother. The father found the 11 year old and immediately called 911.
Medical responders administered CPR and the boy was transported to American Fork Hospital. From there he was flown to Primary Childrens Medical Center in Salt Lake City in extremely critical condition. The boy died this morning. His body was taken to the Office of Medical Examiner in Salt Lake and detectives continue their investigation. There is nothing suspicious about the circumstances in this case. The victim was 11 year old Orion Gunderson of Eagle Mountain.
